Dr. El-Gohary completed his undergraduate training in 2006 at the University of Southampton on the South coast of England. He subsequently completed his training in family medicine combining it with an academic role.

Dr. El-Gohary worked in a number of primary care settings and was affiliated with academic primary care at the University of Southampton for a number of years before relocating to Canada and settling in Edmonton.

Dr. El-Gohary has a wide range of experience with all matters relating to general practice and family medicine. He uses his academic background to discuss and implement evidence-based practice.

Areas of particular interest include:

• Preventative health practice 
• The early detection of liver disease in primary care 
• Lifestyle Medicine (Dr. El-Gohary is presently completing certification in Lifestyle Medicine)

Outside of work Dr El-Gohary enjoys travelling when possible, staying fit, general interest reading, family time, and football (the round ball).
